A bit about our instructors.
Lucy Norfolk,
I discovered line dancing in 1993 when I was just 12 years old, learning alongside my grandma—and I was instantly hooked. Soon after, I teamed up with a couple of friends, and we began traveling across the country, dancing every night and spending our weekends at socials. Over time, we formed our own line dance team, following various bands and even becoming roadies, helping set up and take down their equipment. Those years taught me so much and left me with countless cherished memories.
As our passion grew, we started teaching dances, creating our own routines, and entertaining wherever we could. I also had the unique opportunity to teach line dancing in Spain for a couple of years. After returning to the UK, life took a different turn as I stepped away from dancing to care for my children and my husband, who sadly passed away in 2022.
Now, I’m ready to return to what I love most.
Rosie Macro
Rosie’s journey into line dancing began unexpectedly at a fitness weekend in 1996, where she was captivated by the joy of a line dancing class. As a qualified swimming teacher with expertise in parent-and-child classes, aquarobics, and teaching people with disabilities, Rosie was no stranger to inspiring others through movement. That fun-filled evening sparked a new passion, leading her to train as a line dance instructor alongside her aquarobics colleague, Nikki. Together, they launched classes that built Rosie’s confidence and ignited her love for teaching this lively art form. Though Nikki has since moved to New Zealand, where she thrives in the exercise industry, Rosie remains grateful for their shared beginnings.
For Rosie, line dancing is all about enjoyment. “We’re here to have fun, not to pass exams!” she says. She believes in the power of line dancing to boost physical and mental health while fostering lifelong friendships. Over the years, Rosie has watched shy beginners blossom into confident dancers, making her career incredibly rewarding.
Rosie’s connection with our other instructor, Lucy, goes back decades. They first met when Lucy, then 14, attended Rosie’s classes with friends. Their paths have intertwined ever since, growing into a strong friendship and a dynamic teaching partnership. Together, they inspire and support each other, creating a welcoming and vibrant community for dancers of all levels.
Rosie feels lucky to share her passion with such a wonderful colleague and friend—and we feel lucky to have her leading our line dance classes with enthusiasm, warmth, and a contagious love for dance!
